2021 NCHA 4CYTE FUTURITY SHOW CANCELLATION
Dear NCHA members,
The NCHA Board would like to provide an update on the 2021 NCHA 4CYTE Futurity Show. Following careful and ongoing consideration of the current Covid-19 situation and challenges being faced with restrictions and ongoing border closures, the Board has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 NCHA 4CYTE Futurity Show that was planned to take place from 24th November – 5th December 2021 in Tamworth. Unfortunately, venue availability dictates that we are unable to postpone the event further, in its current format, however we are committed to awarding the 2021 Futurity champion titles, and further information on how this will take place will be provided in the coming weeks. Additionally, a Futurity entry refund policy is currently being developed and will be released next week. We respectfully ask that members and competitors restrain from contacting the office with regards to refunds until the Futurity entry refund policy is released next week, after which time refunds will be actioned swiftly.
The NCHA Board would like to take this opportunity to thank Affiliates who have proactively planned, organised or held state-based events during this uncertain time, the NCHA greatly appreciated your efforts in providing members with opportunities to show. We are also committed to ensuring Area Awards are awarded for the points year (where possible) and the Office is currently undertaking an intensive review of the Area Standings to ensure accurate and up-to-date standings can be released and maintained moving forward.
Furthermore, we would like to thank members, owners, trainers, supporters and sponsors for their patience and understanding while this decision was reached, and we look forward to providing further updates in the coming weeks.
With 2022 being the 50th Anniversary year for the NCHA in Australia and an improvement to the Covid-19 situation on the horizon, the Board feels optimistic and excited for what 2022 has in-store for the NCHA and the cutting industry in Australia, with a jewel in the crown being the recently-announced $100,000 2022 Futurity. We look forward to seeing you in the pen for what will hopefully be a great year of cutting ahead.

AN IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR MEMBERS REGARDING COVID-19 AND THE OPERATATION OF THE NCHA OFFICE
NSW Health has declared a 7 day lockdown for Tamworth following the recent news of sudden exposure sites appearing. This decision is in the best interest for both our health and yours as it eliminates any close contact risks as well as community transmissions.
As a result of this, the NCHA premises is now CLOSED until the lockdown has been lifted.

AN UPDATE TO MEMBERS AND COMPETITORS REGARDING COVID-19 AND THE 2021 NCHA 4CYTE FUTURITY
Further to our previous Covid-19 Update in last week’s E-Newsletter, we are continually monitoring the unfolding Covid-19 situation, Public Health Orders, restrictions in place for Greater Sydney and Regional NSW, as well as current and possible restrictions in other States.
While we continue to work towards hopefully delivering the 2021 NCHA 4CYTE Futurity from 26th July – 8th August, we recognise that the situation is evolving and we therefore thank our Competitors, Owners, Traders and Sponsors for their patience while we monitor circumstances and try to plan accordingly. We encourage all members to check our Facebook and Instagram pages, the NCHA website (updates will be posted to the ‘Recent News’ section of the Homepage) regularly for updates. Ensuring the health and safety of our competitors and all involved in the event is a key priority for the NCHA, and – at this stage, we continue to work towards hopefully staging a Covid-safe Futurity event during the planned dates, should circumstances permit. We very much hope to be seeing everyone in Tamworth from 26th July – 8th August.

COVID 19 UPDATE NSW SPORTS COMMUNITIES
The NSW Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant, released advice recommending that, effective from Wednesday 19 August 2020, all community sporting events that involve travel from other regions should cease. Please see attached full statement as to the revised position on Community Sports in NSW.
Understanding that this will cause significant disruption to affiliates who had planned to run events this weekend and beyond, the NCHA supports the position taken by NSW Health.
Also provided is a some FAQ’s to clarify how this impacts all sporting communities and including the Cutting competitors.
In clarification on what is classed as regions, the recommendation from NSW Health, that community sporting competitions are ceased, where riders travel from other regions, relies on a definition of regions which we can’t provide. There are many different maps, but none are referenced in the advice. In response, please apply common sense to your events, so that only “local” riders attend.

The QLD Government has provided the following link which outlines the path forward for Community Sport in Queensland, along with some funding opportunities that may assist Community Sporting Clubs to:
- understand the prospective timelines and what that involves
- support grants for application to assist in restablishing competition, and for the new Covid-19 standards
